Transparency

A Time to Listen is based on the idea that we need safe spaces to listen well to the stories of LGBTQ+ individuals in our Canadian Mennonite Brethren Family.  We exist because we love our Mennonite Brethren conference and also the LGBTQ+ folks who have or are existing within it. As such, there are some guiding principles to how we have made decisions (the following will be updated as we continue to learn and grow).

1. We are very specific about this being a listening space. We are not promoting any kind of agenda other than the need to listen and create safe space for stories to be shared.

2. Stories are centred around the experiences of people. We invite our guests to omit details around specific churches, people, and even geographical location when possible, so we can focus on what their personal experience has been.

3. We do not edit or censor the stories of our sharers. 

4. We take feedback seriously and are constantly working to make this space safe, open, and helpful to those sharing and those listening.
