Q: Who is putting on these events?
A: A planning team of MB church members has come together to put on these events. They are not put on by the National or Provincial conference leadership, but we hope they are able to attend the events and be a part of the listening process.
Q: Can I join the event anonymously?
A: Absolutely. We want the space to be as safe as possible for those attending and sharing. You are free to use a name or be anonymous, have video on or off. Please note that any activity on our zoom call that is hostile toward those sharing will result in your immediate removal from the gathering. Our emphasis is on listening and safe spaces.
Q: How are events advertised?
A: Our first event was spread through word of mouth. Since this is not a project organized by the Canadian MB Conference itself, we could not use the traditional conference channels to distribute the information. Our hope is that people will subscribe to our newsletter and check this website for future information and updates.
For our second event, we were able to have registrations through Eventbrite and will continue to use that resource to help people gain access to our listening events.
Q: How many people can attend your events?
A: Our zoom capacity is 500 people, and our two events have both seen an average of 200 people in attendance. We have lots of room for you to join!
